Practice Journal

Forget about trying to learn every single linear pattern or master the rudiments backwards, forwards and upside down.

The No. 1 way to improve your playing is by setting small actionable practice goals and tracking your progress.

The Drum Practice Journal is designed to help you do both of those things. Each section contains a weekly planner to write down your key goals and tasks for the week. Knowing what you are aiming for is one of the keys to success.

Following that are 5 daily practice pages (you get two days off!) with space to list technical exercises, tempo markings and time spent on each task. You can also record any particular pieces or repertoire that you are working on and note down your own observations.

Every time you sit down to practice you will have a clear overview of what you are working on that week. As each week is filled you can look back and measure how you are progressing.

This provides motivation, clarity, and maximum effective use of your practice time meaning you can achieve more with less and also have time for the other things in you life!

Notation for Non-Readers

This book is designed for drummers, drum teachers and drum students.

Using it enables you to get your ideas, exercises and drum patterns down on paper without having to read music. ,

Each page has a set of drum notation grids and a set of musical staves that are left unlabelled so that you can insert your own counts and drum kit items. The drum notation grids are ideal for those not familiar with manuscript stave notation and can provide a quick visual guide for learning new patterns.

For Drum Leaders

This is an essential tool for anyone working with rhythm in communities, schools, colleges, studios and care centres. It will help you to plan the content and logistics of all your workshops, events, classes and clinics.

Each section is chock full of music staves, rhythm grids, event details, tempo charts, activity plans and space for other notes and information.

You can get organised by outlining your sessions, brainstorming ideas and planning the overall feel of your project in the way that best suits you.
